DevOps Engineer

2021 - Present

Booz Allen Hamilton, Richmond, VA

  • Developed and implemented an automatic tagging project for AWS services using CloudBees (Jenkins) CI/CD pipeline, Terraform IaC, and GitHub SCM. This enforced compliance with CMS policy across 50 AWS accounts and for the first time, provided accurate billing information across program categories.
  • Created a CI/CD pipeline to scan AWS accounts for EC2 instances using IMDSv1 and documented security vulnerabilities. Utilized AWS StepFunction, Lambda functions, and Terraform IaC to generate summary reports for leadership.
  • Recommended open-source tools for enforcing least-privileged access in AWS environments and presented “AirIAM” tool to leadership with a demonstration of installation and usage.
  • Automated the launch of compliant EC2 instances using a Terraform template stored in SCM, enforcing the use of the latest RHEL AWS AMI, compliant subnets and VPCs, IAM policies, and tags.
  • Refactored cloud resource inventory application to scale and increase performance using AWS ECS Fargate, Step Function, Lambda, and Terraform IaC across DEV and PROD accounts. Automated docker image build and upload using Jenkins CloudBees CI/CD pipeline and Amazon ECR.
  • Automated report generation from AWS Config rule using Javascript and Python scripts. Converted Python code to Javascript for increased performance and utilized chromium browser APIs. Created AWS Lambda docker images to overcome code size limitations and automated weekly Confluence web page updates.
